1 Introduction
1.1 Purpose
The Transportation Research Board contracted Blue Wing Services to conduct National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Project 23-28, Planning for 4.9 GHz Spectrum Changes — What Transportation Agencies Need to Know.
This document provides background and guidance for transportation agencies that wish to implement systems in the band.
The purpose of this Conduct of Research Report is to identify and provide an overview of the documentation of the research activities, any applicable key findings and/or scenarios with strategies and other pertinent topics that would benefit state departments of transportation (DOTs).
The research, findings, and dissemination of the information documented during this project are meant to increase awareness of the importance of the 4.9 GHz band.
