Caregiving is a universal experience, whether providing care for children or aging relatives or receiving care when ailing, everyone at some point will be touched by caregiving. But, caregiving is stigmatized and under-supported in the United States. On November 20th, the Committee on Women in Science, Engineering, and Medicine will hold a sympoiusm examining best practices and innovative solutions to support family caregivers in academic STEMM. Building on the 2024 National Academies report, Supporting Family Caregivers in STEMM: A Call to Action, presenters will share actionable policies, practices, and strategies they and others have implemented to support caregivers.
