Description
A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (National Academies) will organize and execute a public workshop to discuss national and international approaches to characterizing and communicating the quality of national statistics and statistical data. The goal of this workshop is to bring together relevant experts to review practices in different countries' National Statistical Offices and international statistical organizations for designating/certifying and communicating about official statistics, as well as recognizing/designating and communicating about the quality or experimental or preliminary nature of statistics being released and their fitness for use for different purposes. The planning committee will define the specific topics to be addressed, develop the agenda, and select and invite speakers and other participants. After the workshop, a Proceedings of the Workshop will be prepared by designated rapporteurs in accordance with National Academies' guidelines and shall be released to the public.
