TRB Webinar: Pavement Performance—Fundamentals and New Technologies

May 31, 2022

1:30 PM - 3:00 PM (EDT)

Past

New technologies can improve pavement performance. TRB hosted a webinar on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 that covered ways new technologies can support asphalt paving fundamentals. Presenters provided an overview of pavement fundamentals, and identified current technologies available to help pavement construction quality. Using a single technology or a combination of them can improve construction quality. They also discussed how these technologies can help address obstacles that pavement fundamentals may not solve.

This webinar was sponsored by the TRB Standing Technical Committees on Pavement Construction and Rehabilitation, Quality Assurance Management, and Asphalt Mixture Evaluation and Performance.

The slides are linked in the meeting materials. View the recorded webinar below.

  2. Types of technologies available: Tim Kowalski, Wirtgen Group
  3. How these technologies address obstacles to quality paving practices: Miguel Montoya, The University of Texas at El Paso
