Agencies are seeking cost-effective, sustainable solutions to rebuild national roadway infrastructure without compromising performance. Cold In-place recycling (CIR) and Cold Central Plant Recycling (CCPR) are two sustainable, low-carbon approaches to rehabilitating and building asphalt pavements that are seeing an increased use. TRB hosted a webinar on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern that provided an overview of the state of the practice with CIR and CCPR of asphalt mixtures. Presenters discussed the new draft report of American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ (AASHTO) Construction Guide Specifications for CIR and CCPR asphalt mixtures. Presenters also shared the best practices guide and training materials that will be published as a part of this report.
