Intermediate temperature tests for modified binders may help capture the cracking resistance of these materials better than traditional methods. TRB hosted a webinar on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern that explored findings from these innovative tests, which use common asphalt binder laboratory equipment. Factors that can significantly affect the fatigue performance of asphalt pavements include the binder content, binder aging, and the chemical and physical characteristics of the asphalt binders used in the asphalt pavement layers. Continued funding for research in this area was also discussed.
